Detection of EGF R/ErbB1 in A431 Human Cell Line by Flow Cytometry. A431 human epithelial carcinoma cell line treated with recombinant human EGF (Catalog # 236-EG) was stained with Mouse Anti-Human Phospho-EGF R/ErbB1 (Y1068) Fluorescein-conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # IC3570F, filled histogram) or isotype control antibody (Catalog # IC003F, open histogram). To facilitate intracellular staining, cells were fixed with Flow Cytometry Fixation Buffer (Catalog # FC004) and permeabilized with Flow Cytometry Permeabilization/Wash Buffer I (Catalog # FC005). Background: EGFR

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF R, also known as ErbB1 and HER1) is the founding member of the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases. Ligand binding induces receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation on multiple tyrosine residues. Phosphorylation at Tyr 1068 allows binding of the SH2 domain of the cytosolic adaptor Grb2. This binding results in Ras activation.
