Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) Antibody Summary
Met1-Ser390
Accession # P01137
Applications
This antibody functions as an ELISA detection antibody when paired with Mouse Anti-Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB77541).
This product is intended for assay development on various assay platforms requiring antibody pairs. We recommend the Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) DuoSet ELISA Kit (Catalog # DY246) for convenient development of a sandwich ELISA or the Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) Quantikine ELISA Kit (Catalog # DLAP00) for a complete optimized ELISA.
Please Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. General Protocols are available in the Technical Information section on our website.
Scientific Data
Human LAP (TGF‑ beta 1) ELISA Standard Curve. Recombinant Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB77541) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Mouse Anti-Human LAP (TGF-beta 1) Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB7754) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).

Background: LAP (TGF-beta 1)
The TGF‑ beta family includes several related proteins (70‑80% sequence homology) from mammalian, avian, or Xenopus systems that are now designated TGF‑ beta 1, TGF‑ beta 2, TGF‑ beta 1.2, TGF‑ beta 3, TGF‑ beta 4, and TGF‑ beta 5. These proteins are secreted by cells in the form of an inactive complex, referred to as latent TGF-beta, that consists of TGF‑ beta associated non-covalently with a Latency-associated peptide (LAP). These two proteins are synthesized as a single pro-peptide that is cleaved in a post Golgi compartment prior to secretion. Different TGF‑ beta family members are naturally associated with their own distinct LAPs.
