Biological Activity
AP 20187 is a chemical inducer of dimerization (CID) for use in FKBP fusion protein systems. Induces apoptosis in cells expressing fusion proteins consisting of FKBPF36V and the intracellular domain of the Fas receptor, Fas-associated death domain (FADD) or a caspase. Selective for FKBPF36V-Fas fusion proteins over wild-type FKBP. Induces apoptosis of senescent cells expressing caspase-8-FKBP fusion proteins under the control of an Ink4a promoter. Active in vivo. For more information about how AP 20187 may be used, see our protocol.
